Hi, my name is Elaine Rodrigues and originally from Leicester, I moved to London in February 2007. I became Secretary of the YLGS in January 2008 although have been a member since 2003.

One of my main reasons for joining the YLGS is because in Leicester there isn’t a club or anything like that at all and the only time you would get to meet other goans or young goans is at weddings, birthdays or funerals. Saying that I was only introduced to this by my cousins in Leicester who mentioned this to me after they had attended an event (I think it was the boat party in 2002) My first YLGS event was Aloha Goa and my first MMU was in May 2005.

A little bit more about me…I’m 28 years old and currently work as a Senior Human Resources Advisor within the NHS in London. I live in Ealing and flat share with 2 other girls, I have a younger brother Nick and my parents still live in Leicester so I tend to go home sometimes.

My main hobby is dancing and for a long time I did Ballroom and Latin American, but lately I have really got into Salsa. One day I would like to open up my own dance school and choreograph all the routines.

I enjoy reading Virginia Andrews novels and watching rom-coms. I enjoy listening to a fusion of music but lean a bit more towards RnB and Hip-Hop.
